Napoli are whittling down the details of bonuses, as Jorginho edges closer to Manchester City, as confirmed by President Aurelio De Laurentiis.

“I spoke to Manchester City directors again on Thursday about Jorginho, but now (director of sport Cristiano) Giuntoli is holding the talks,” the patron told the Corriere dello Sport newspaper.

“We have to reach an agreement, I gave my indications and took a step towards the English club. In these situations, if one takes a step forward, the other ought to as well.

“I will say there is a more than concrete possibility we’ll soon reach an agreement.”

According to Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli, the demand is now €50m cash plus bonuses that are fairly easy to achieve for a total of €55-56m.

Manchester City are currently offering the same figures, but want to make the performance-related bonuses more complex and less of a guarantee.

Nonetheless, they are down to details and Napoli have already chosen Fabian Ruiz – who has a €30m release clause in his Real Betis contract – as Jorginho’s replacement.
