Former Fiorentina winger Martin Jorgensen says the Viola didn’t want to draw Napoli in the Europa League semi-final.

Fiorentina will travel to Spain to take on the defending Europa League champions on May 7 before hosting the crucial second leg at Stadio Artemio Franchi on May 14.

The chance of an all-Italian final remains as Napoli were drawn against Ukrainians Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk , and Jorgensen was happy with the outcome, though he anticpates a difficult tie.

“We didn’t want to draw Napoli,” he told Mediaset.

“They will be two fantastic matches against Sevilla and we’re hoping to go all the way. Fiorentina are a team that knows how to play in Europe, but Sevilla aren’t easily beaten.”

The former Danish international also compared the current side to the one he was a part of from 2004-2010.

“The difference from the Viola team I played in is that now we’re a more European team, we have even less Italians in the squad.

“Fiorentina don’t have any fear when they play in Europe and they played a superb match yesterday.”
