New Inter right-back Jonathan wants to mirror the achievements of fellow countryman Maicon at San Siro.
The Brazilian was presented to the media earlier today following his switch from South American giants Santos.
"I'm very pleased to be here and the welcome I have been given has been wonderful,” Jonathan Cicero Moreira noted.
“This is a dream come true for me and I hope I'll be able to pay everyone back by living up to my expectations. I'll do everything in my power to see that happens.
"I chose Inter because it's one of the best clubs in the world, every player dreams of playing here, for this team who try to win every title they enter.
"Maicon wrote his name in the Inter history books and I want to write mine too. He's one of the best players in that role and I'll do my best to play my own game.
“I'm told I'm very similar to Maicon, I'll try to do my best and will do what the Coach tells me. Maicon is the best, though.”
Inter could play with a three-man defence this season following the appointment of Gian Piero Gasperini, but the player is ready for anything.
"For Santos I played in a four-man defence, but for Cruzeiro I also played in a three-man defence, so I won't have any trouble adapting to this here."
The Nerazzurri face Milan in the Italian Super Cup Final on August 6, but the stopper doesn’t think he’ll feature after recent injury.
"My physical condition is already good, although I'm not at the same level as the rest of the team yet,” he added.
“It would be better to wait until I'm at my best and I won't be for the Super Cup.”
Jonathan will wear the No 42 shirt.
