On September 1 the Stadio Olimpico in Rome will be hosting a charity match organised by Inter legend Javier Zanetti and backed by Pope Francis.

“I am very honoured to be taking to the field for this match,” he told reporters at The Vatican.

“It’s a message that we want to promote. I want to thank Zanetti and all those involved for inviting me.

“It’s going to be a great occasion.

“Now I want to work hard this week and focus ahead of the game on Saturday.”
