Tension is growing after FIGC President Carlo Tavecchio “didn’t know” Italy Coach Antonio Conte visited the Chelsea training ground today.

This week the Premier League side finally announced what had been known for quite some time, that Conte will be taking over as manager next season.

The tactician visited the Blues at their training ground today, accompanied by technical director Michael Emenalo.

This was so Conte would get to meet the players who he will be working with next term.

However, there was a tense moment when Federation President Tavecchio was asked about the visit during a public event.

“I didn’t know that,” he admitted to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Conte is still under contract with Italy until after Euro 2016 and there are fears he is neglecting his duties in preparing for that tournament.
