Prandelli and the FIGC have put in place an ethical code and players who stray from it will not be called up for the national team.

For instance, Antonio Cassano was 'unavailable' for selection during his dispute with Sampdoria between October and December last year.

Reports in Italy suggest Roma will also fine De Rossi for his actions.

Roma lost 3-0 on the night and went out 6-2 on aggregate. Philippe Mexes was sent off for a second bookable offence and Marco Borriello missed a penalty.
