On from following up the weekend’s warm-up draw in London with Republic of Ireland with a 1-1 result against Luxembourg in Perugia on Wednesday evening, Cesare Prandelli’s men are now due to fly out to Rio.
Midnight tonight will see the group depart Rome’s Fiumicino Airport on a chartered flight that will touch down in the Brazilian city some 12 hours later, arriving around 7am local time, 11am UK time on Friday.
The group will then transfer to their accommodation booked at the Hotel Portobello Resort in Mangaratiba, before a UK time evening Press conference with Prandelli followed by training open to the media.
The routine for five of the next six days will be similar to that at Coverciano, with morning and afternoon training sessions [local time] broken by lunchtime Press conferences.
Sunday will be the only variation and see the Azzurri play one final warm-up match against club side Fluminense at the Estadio da Cidadania.
Friday June 13 will then see the team fly out to Manaus ahead of the following day’s opening Group D match with England.
