Italy international Nicolò Zaniolo is reportedly undergoing the main part of his medical with Aston Villa ahead of an initial loan move from Galatasaray.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Zaniolo is currently undergoing ‘the final, main part of medical tests’ as a new Aston Villa player. The two clubs and the 24-year-old will sign documents to finalise the deal later today.

Galatasaray coach Okan Buruk confirmed Tuesday night that Zaniolo was off to England because he wanted to play in the Premier League.

Zaniolo already had a chance to play in England but snubbed an offer from Bournemouth this past January, joining Galatasaray instead.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Aston Villa will sign the ex-Roma striker on loan with an option to buy.

The Giallorossi have retained a 20 per cent cut of the sell-on fee, meaning they will get circa €6m if Aston Villa make Zaniolo’s move permanent for €27m after paying €4m for a one-year loan.
