Marco Verratti claims Italy ‘felt like we could score at any moment’ of their dramatic 1-0 victory over Poland on Sunday.

Verratti was joined in midfield by Jorginho and Nicolo Barella for the second successive game, and the Paris Saint-Germain man was delighted the Azzurri were finally able to win a match.

“Certainly we’ve been lacking victories,” he told Rai Sport.

“Certainly we’ve been lacking victories,” he told Rai Sport.

“When you don’t get three points, you’re not fully satisfied. We felt like we could score at any moment, so winning like this is even better.

“Football is like that and we were good at continuing to believe. This is a new cycle and we’re trying to get even better.

“We’ve put in two good performances, although you can’t compare club performances with those for a national team.”
