Spain boss Vicente Del Bosque is showing respect for Italy ahead of this week’s clash despite comfortably disposing of them a year ago.

The Spaniards, who will play Cesare Prandelli’s men in Thursday’s Confederations Cup semi, destroyed the Azzurri 4-0 in the Final of Euro 2012 last summer.

The Spaniards, who will play Cesare Prandelli’s men in Thursday’s Confederations Cup semi, destroyed the Azzurri 4-0 in the Final of Euro 2012 last summer.

“Italy are a tough opponent, one of the greats of European and world football,” the tactician stated after his side beat Nigeria 3-0.

“Few things have changed in both squads. We have both maintained a stable block and the same Coaches.

“Our challenge is to get to the Final on June 30, but we must overcome Italy who will still be fresh from the European Championship Final and will come into this game with the spirit of revenge.”
