Italian media give their verdict on Christian Pulisic’s debut for Milan in a 7-0 friendly win over Lumezzane on Thursday.

The USNT international was included in the starting XI alongside Ruben Loftus-Cheek and provided two assists against the Serie C team.

Tommaso Pobega and Lorenzo Colombo scored two goals each, with Junior Messias, Luka Romero and academy player Kevin Zeroli also putting their names on the scoresheet.

Although Lumezzane are far from being a top-tier team, Pulisic’s performance impressed the Italian media.

According to Friday’s printed edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (page 7), Pulisic was the best player on the pitch.

‘We knew Pulisic was a strong player, but the news is that he is fit and has enthusiasm,’ wrote journalist Luca Bianchin. ‘In the opening 20 minutes, he delivered two assists for Pobega and hit the post once. Pulisic often dribbled past his opponents and played on the left flank where Leao would soon run.’

Il Corriere dello Sport (page 19) wrote that Pulisic ‘impressed’ in his Milan debut, while Tuttosport’s correspondent Pietro Mazzara wrote on page 14 that Pulisic ‘delighted’ the Rossoneri.

Pulisic will join his teammates for Milan’s pre-season tour in the USA. The Rossoneri will fly out from Milano today. Coach Stefano Pioli praised the ex-Chelsea winger before departing for America saying that working with a player like him ‘makes it all easier.’
