The representative of Marco Verratti has underlined that his client would be too expensive for any Italian club interested in his services.

The Italian international moved to Paris Saint-Germain in the summer for €12m from Pescara and Donato Di Campli has now warned that he’s worth double that figure.

“Which Italian club has €25m for Verratti?” Di Campli asked Rai Sport 1. “He’s wanted by a number of sides now, we are talking about the biggest clubs in the world.

“However, I’ve already met with PSG sporting director Leonardo and we’ll meet again at the end of the season to discuss an improved contract. I don’t anticipate problems on that front.

“Marco is really happy to be at such a great club. The enthusiasm in Paris is crazy and the project is very important.”

Napoli are known to have made a bid for the player last summer, but the agent has revealed why he wasn’t keen on that switch.

“There are two reasons why I discouraged Marco from joining Napoli,” he explained. “The first was because nobody saw him as a first team regular.

“The second was because he would have had to give up his image rights to the club as well.”
