Udinese patron Giampaolo Pozzo is confident that Mauricio Isla will become a success at Juventus.

The Chilean international joined the Old Lady in the summer on a co-ownership deal from the Udine side, but he’s had his problems impressing.

“I’m sure that I sold an important player to Juventus, a player worthy of their club,” Pozzo told Tuttosport.

“The value of Isla in Udine was under the eyes of everyone.

“Knowing the boy as I do, thanks to his character and personality, he’ll return to his levels.”

The 24-year-old, who has made 10 appearances for the Bianconeri, only returned to action this season after six months out with knee ligament damage.

“At the moment he is not himself, but the injury has its weight,” Pozzo continued. “Not having a proper pre-season is a big handicap.

“He needs a bit of patience, but you’ll see that he will explode as Kwadwo Asamoah has. He proved in Udine that he wasn’t inferior to the Ghanaian, actually…”

Juventus and Udinese will meet in Serie A this weekend.
