“The words of Lotito and Tare were beautiful,” he said at a Press conference.

“However, I didn’t need them because they show their closeness to me every day. There’s been a lot of talk this week, but luckily I’ve known this environment for 20 years.

“It’s my concern to make this team go like a Ferrari. I was disappointed by the approach we took against Apollon and Chievo.

“However, we’ve analysed the things that didn’t go well and now we must start over. I want to say that the ‘ritiro’ wasn’t punitive, but it helped us analyse our problems and stick together.

“We focused on the things that didn’t go well in the last few games, without forgetting that we’re fifth, one point from fourth, and in the Europa League last 16.

“The Champions League shouldn’t be an obsession for us, but it shouldn’t be an excuse either.

“Injuriesd? Marusic won’t play, Lucas is slowly returning to the group and today I think he’ll work separately.

“He probably won’t play, but now I’ll weigh things up carefully. Samp are very organised and have a very good Coach, but we must win.”
