Simone Inzaghi makes history this evening as the most successful Serie A coach in his first 300 games and urges Inter to be ‘focused’ against on-form Genoa.

It kicks off at San Siro at 19.45 GMT.

This is the 300th Serie A match in the tactician’s career and before even taking to the field, he already had the most successful start of any coach in this league.

Inzaghi has 178 wins under his belt, so comfortably more than Carlo Ancelotti’s 172 victories before reaching the 300 mark and 171 for Max Allegri.

It also means a 179th victory would allow Inter to go 15 points clear at the top of the table, as Juventus lost to Napoli last night.

“We know it is a very important game, we are coming off a good performance against Atalanta midweek,” Inzaghi told Sky Sport Italia.

“We need to be focused and concentrated, as Genoa lost only one game in their last 12 and that was in the final minutes against Atalanta, so they are in good form.”

Alessandro Bastoni is suspended, with Hakan Calhanoglu and Juan Cuadrado injured, but there is a boost with the return of Marcus Thuram and Francesco Acerbi to the bench.

Meanwhile, Alexis Sanchez was given the nod this evening rather than Marko Arnautovic to partner Lautaro Martinez.

“Thuram had two training sessions, Acerbi just the one. Alexis Sanchez is doing well, I expect him and all his teammates to put in a good performance.”
