Simone Inzaghi admits Lazio “lost deservedly” to Apollon Limassol and is still disappointed to lose a Europa League game, albeit a meaningless one.
The Aquile had already qualified and there was a slim chance of snatching top spot from Eintracht Frankfurt, but this 2-0 defeat and the Germans crushing Olympique Marseille 4-0 put paid to that.

The Aquile had already qualified and there was a slim chance of snatching top spot from Eintracht Frankfurt, but this 2-0 defeat and the Germans crushing Olympique Marseille 4-0 put paid to that.
“It’s always disappointing to lose, especially at international level. We made a few mistakes and lost deservedly,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.
“Qualification had already been secured against Marseille, plus we heard Eintracht were winning 2-0 after 15 minutes.
“I fielded players we had never used before and I got a good response, including the debut of a very promising young player in Nicolò Armini.
“It ultimately is a result that doesn’t count for anything, but it’s still disappointing to lose. Finishing top of the group does give you a simpler draw going forward, but we’ll have to put that to the back of our minds until February.”
