Lazio boss Simone Inzaghi believes his side “fully deserved” the victory, despite huge controversy surrounding refereeing decisions.

The Biancocelesti emerged victorious against Parma thanks to a goal from Felipe Caicedo, but the home side had a penalty claim go against them, and there seemed to be words exchanged between Inzaghi and Roberto D’Aversa.

“Roberto is a friend. I only went over to hear what was being said,” Inzaghi told Sky Sport Italia.

“Lazio merited the victory, there was also a penalty for us in the Joaquin Correra-Matteo Darmian incident that wasn’t given.

“For them there is regret for the defeat, but we deserved the win.”

Lazio are now just a single point behind champions Juve, and Inzaghi wasn’t getting drawn in on the topic of the Scudetto.

“I’ll keep talking about a great game, against a difficult side. The only drawback is not having scored a second goal that would have closed the game sooner.

“With a physical team like Parma we had to be good, I’m satisfied.

“With the win, our position in the table gets better.”

The Biancocelesti face Inter next weekend in what is sure to be a crunch tie.

“Next Sunday will be a good game, in an excellent setting. We will face a very good side, and we have shown that we are not far behind them.”
