“We are not accustomed to this and we absolutely want to put this negative period aside. We’ll need to put in a strong performance and are up against a quality team that is in good shape. The home advantage will also be important for them with a fiery atmosphere.
“We analysed everything with the lads, calmly discussing the current situation. Apart from against Genoa, these were games decided by individual incidents. We’ll change a few things and want to continue our Europa League journey.”
Inzaghi is forced into some of those adjustments, because Stefan de Vrij, Luis Alberto, Marco Parolo and Adam Marusic haven’t even made the trip.
At least Felipe Anderson returns after he was frozen out against Napoli for his bad attitude.
“He has resumed training with the rest of the squad and has probably realised he made a mistake. He seems concentrated and motivated. He might not start tomorrow, but he’ll be an important weapon we can use later in the game.
“We wanted to qualify for Europe with all our strength and perhaps now we’re suffering with the packed schedule. We are fighting on three fronts and want to go all the way.”
