Mattia De Sciglio has praised Milan Coach Filippo Inzaghi for bringing a newfound harmony to the Rossoneri squad.

Milan finished last season eighth in Serie A, but currently sit in fourth after a promising start to life under their new tactician, who De Sciglio credits as changing the atmosphere at Milanello.

“He [Inzaghi] worked on the group, and the togetherness of the team, which was missing last year,” De Sciglio has reflected to the Corriere della Sera.

“If you are united off the field, then you see the results of that in the game too.

“His main quality? He transmits his enthusiasm to us.

“He asks us for commitment and availability, but he’s more permissive than you’d think. Because he was a player, he understands our needs.”

The Italian international also thanked Inzaghi for moving him back to his favoured position at left-back, after playing on the right under Clarence Seedorf last term.

“I feel at home on the left.

“I’m right footed, and I can also play on the wing, but I play on the left for Italy too.

“Let’s just say it helps me to display more continuity in my performances.”
