“We worked well, but know that games after the break for international duty are always more difficult,” said the Coach in his Press conference.

“We’re facing a side like Genoa who are organised, aggressive and intense, so we must match them in terms of intensity. There are six very tough matches from now to the Christmas break and we’ve got to take them one at a time.

“I try to choose the best available line-up for each game. We want to maintain a strong position in the table and it all depends on us, so we’ve got to do our best.

“In football it only takes a moment to slip and that’s why concentration is so important. We can do much better and must maintain focus to ensure everyone is on point.”

Jordan Lukaku and Stefan de Vrij are injured, but Felipe Anderson continues to impress for the Aquile.

“I am happy with Felipe and the way he sacrifices himself for the team. His position tomorrow depends also on the way Genoa play. There is a great deal of competition for places at Lazio, so everyone knows they have to make it difficult for me to choose.

“I always told the lads that pressure should not be an issue, because we need to train with a smile and really have fun with our football. You can see on the pitch that there’s nothing weighing them down.”
