Atalanta have warned Inter that they will have to increase their offer if they want to sign Ezequiel Schelotto this month.
The right-sided player is being targeted by the San Siro giants, but the two clubs have yet to reach a compromise over a fee.
“The deal won’t take off,” Atalanta director Pierpaolo Marino told Calcio Market. “We have a particularly good relationship with Inter, but we have yet to receive an offer that satisfies us.
“Schelotto, who I’d like to keep, is an expert player and one who will be potentially very good in the future.
“We’ll just have to wait for Inter to make us an offer which respects the value of the player.”
There is talk that the Nerazzurri could offer teenage striker Marko Livaja as part of the deal for the Italian international.
“We’d have space for Livaja,” Marino added. “After all, we too need an alternative for German Denis who may need to catch his breath at times.”
