Marco Benassi is keeping his feet on the ground after his breakthrough at Inter this season. “I’m a youth team player.”

The 18-year-old, who is now owned outright after a deal was done with Modena for the other half of his contract, was again in action last night.

However, despite starting in the 2-1 Coppa Italia first leg semi-final defeat to Roma, the midfielder says he’s just happy to help out.

“I still consider myself a Primavera player, a Primavera player who is there if Coach Andrea Stramaccioni needs me,” he noted to Inter Channel. “I'm here for the team.

“The Roma loss? It was a tough match and they are a very good team who play quick football. The result wasn't the best, but nor was it a shocker.”

Benassi has also been used in Serie A and the Europa League this season.
