“I didn’t even talk to the President about him, but I did speak with Coach Luiz Felipe Scolari and he told me that we didn’t need him.”
The cost of signing Cesar, in terms of a transfer fee and his wages before tax, come to around €20m.
A move back to his native Brazil is also complicated by the imminent closure of the transfer market at 19.00 Brazilian time tomorrow.

Cesar made over 200 appearances for the Nerazzurri between 2006 and 2012,winning a number of trophies including five Scudetti and the 2010 Champions League.
