Inter have set their sights on signing Granit Xhaka, but Borussia Monchengladbach want to wait until after the World Cup.

The young midfielder has been heavily linked with a switch to San Siro this summer, with reports surfacing at the start of May that he could join the Nerazzurri.

Sky Sport Italia have confirmed today that Walter Mazzarri is keen on the Switzerland international, but the network also reveals that his current side want to hold out on any negotiations until mid-July.

The former Basel star has been one of the players to watch at this summer’s tournament, and with his notoriety rising, the Bundesliga outfit are hoping to hold on talks and get more money for their starlet.

Inter have tried to offer Saphir Taider plus cash for Xhaka, but Monchengladbach are holding firm for at least another two weeks.
