Inter will meet with Ivan Perisic to try and finalise his contract renewal but there is still distance between his request and their offer.

The 33-year-old Croatian has been an important player for Simone Inzaghi this season, being a regular feature in the left wing back role in the 3-5-2 system. He is happy to stay in the Lombardy capital but with his current deal expiring at the end of this season, an agreement over a renewal must be reached soon.

As reported by TuttoMercatoWeb, Perisic wants a two-year deal with an option for a third worth €5m net per season. Whilst this is a high sum, it’s the same as his current wages and it would be a reward for both his loyalty and professionalism after returning from a year on loan with Bayern Munich, where he won the Champions League.

Inter are happy to renew his deal but they’d like things to be a little lower-scale; the Nerazzurri are offering a one-year deal with an option for a second, possibly linked to appearances and performances. They’d also lower his wages to around €4.5m net per season.

The two parties will meet later this month to try and iron out an agreement but for now it’s still unclear if the Croatian will accept these conditions or not.

  1. Yes, extend him and lose again in the CL by a team who’s better put together and younger.
