This morning’s Corriere dello Sport reports that Banega has agreed on a three-year contract worth around €3m per season, with a  €2.5m signing on fee included.

There is a renewal clause in the player’s contract which triggers an extension after 30 appearances, but it’s down to Banega to choose whether or not to trigger it, which he’s unlikely to do.

However, the 27-year-old won’t join the Beneamata in this window, as Sevilla are refusing to budge from their asking price of €5m.

Inter have no intention of paying that, so Banega will not arrive at San Siro until the end of the season.
