Former Inter transfer official Gabriele Oriali has advised the San Siro giants to keep hold of Thiago Motta.

The Brazilian-born Italian international is being heavily linked with an imminent switch to Paris Saint-Germain.

However, Oriali thinks that the Beneamata would be making a massive mistake in selling the former Barcelona player.

“I hope that boss Claudio Ranieri talks to the directors to make sure that they keep hold of Thiago Motta,” the 1982 World Cup winner told Premium Calcio.

“Motta, for this Inter side, is a fundamental player. If he was to leave then Inter would feel his loss.”

The midfield ball-winner is presently tied to the Nerazzurri until June 2013.
