Inter reportedly want to have a new contract with Rodrigo Palacio in place by the middle of next month.

The Argentine forward’s current deal expires in June 2015 and the Gazzetta dello Sport today suggest that the Nerazzurri ‘have no intention’ of allowing the forward to reach the summer and potentially go out to the World Cup with only a year remaining on his deal.

Subsequently, it is believed that La Beneamata are opening up negotiations on an initial two-year extension to take the 32-year-old through to June 2017, with an option in place for a further year after that also in place.

Inter are seen as keen to have talks with Palacio wrapped up by the middle of March.
