Lautaro Martinez has been a key figure for Inter since returning from the World Cup and is set to be rewarded with a promotion to club captain.
The 25-year-old Argentinian forward has been on fire since winning the World Cup in Qatar, scoring six goals in eight league games in 2023.
Lautaro has also recently starting wearing the captain’s armband after it was taken off of defender Milan Skriniar, who will leave the Lombardy capital for Paris Saint-Germain in the summer.
As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter have no plans of losing Lautaro in the near future and want to reward him in the summer by officially promoting him to club captain, a choice that many fans agree with.
Contracted to the Nerazzurri until June 2026, Lautaro looks to be the latest in a long line of Argentinian club heroes, following in the footsteps of Diego Milito and Javier Zanetti.
Since his arrival in 2018, the Argentinian forward has scored 90 goals and provided 30 assists across 213 appearances.
