The Nerazzurri have been in continued discussions of late with the recently relegated Premier League side over a transfer for their Chile international.

Speculation continues to focus, though, on a gap between what the Welsh side are asking for and what the San Siro outfit are prepared to pay out.

It is believed that Cardiff are still asking for as much as €9m for Medel, just as Inter are pushing for a total spend of no more than €7m, split between an initial payment of €2m for a season-long loan, and an obligatory purchase clause in place set at €5m.

Whilst it accounts for a €2m bridge in valuation, Sportmediaset and the Gazzetta dello Sport believe that an imminent meeting in the UK between Cardiff officials and director Piero Ausilio could see a deal reached very soon.

It is understood that Medel had turned down advances from Everton and Russia to already agree to a four-year, €2m-a-season contract to join the Serie A side.
