Liverpool are reportedly prepared to release Lucas Leiva to Inter, but want £7m rather than a loan with option to buy.

The Brazilian midfielder has been linked with a move to San Siro for some time and that only intensified with the arrival of impressive January swoops Xherdan Shaqiri and Lukas Podolski.

According to the Daily Mirror, Liverpool have placed a £7m price-tag on 28-year-old Lucas.

Inter would prefer to sign him on loan with an option to buy at the end of the season – the same tactic used with Arsenal for Podolski.
