Inter are already guaranteed their place in the Supercoppa Italiana for next season, because the new four-team format will involve both Coppa Italia Finalists and the top two in Serie A.

The Lega Serie A announced that the tournament will be transformed from 2023-24, following in the footsteps of the Spanish model.

It has traditionally been a clash between the winners of the Serie A title and the Coppa Italia holders.

However, from next term it will have both finalists of the Coppa Italia and the top two in the Serie A table.

As things stand, Inter have their spot guaranteed in the Supercoppa, as do Napoli on the verge of sealing the Scudetto.

Fiorentina will face Cremonese in the other Coppa Italia semi-final on Thursday and have a 2-0 first leg advantage to rely on, hoping to book their place in the Final against Inter at the Stadio Olimpico on May 24.

The Supercoppa will be played in Saudi Arabia in January 2024 and January 2025.
