Inter have told Barcelona they won’t take up their €38m option on Rafinha, but they hope to do a deal later in the summer.

The Brazilian joined on loan in January with an option to make the move permanent, but that clause expires at midnight tonight.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Nerazzurri have already made it clear that they won’t be taking up their option.

However, they have also announced that they want to sit around the table and work out a deal to bring Rafinha back to San Siro.

It’s thought that Inter will offer a two-year loan with an obligation to buy, a formula Barça would be open to.

With the midfielder now back to full fitness though, the Blaugrana will drive a hard bargain on the price.

Rafinha and his agent have made it clear he wants to stay in Italy, so they will push to get a deal done.
