Reports in Italy are suggesting that the Manchester City man is viewed by Nerazzurri officials as the possible heir to Diego Milito.

The Argentine will be 34 in June and the Bosnian has been identified as a suitable long-term replacement.

Dzeko, however, will not come cheap as Manchester City will want around €30m for a player they signed in 2011.

The former Wolfsburg centre-forward could also request an annual salary of around €6m a season, which would make him the highest paid player at the club.

Milito, contracted until June 2014, is believed to be on around €4.5m a campaign.

Inter are currently two points adrift of a Champions League spot in Serie A.
