“First of all, Mourinho is a winner,” declared Marco Materazzi. “But before he drags you to success, he respects you and treats you like a son or a brother.”

“I still remember the first speech Mou gave in the dressing room,” reflected Dejan Stankovic. “After five minutes I would have split the world for him. At 30 years of age, I learned things from him that I thought I already knew.”

“Mourinho is a strong man, stubborn,” revealed Javier Zanetti. “When we said goodbye for the last time I felt great sadness. It was painful to see him go, he was the leader of our big family, we were willing to do anything for him.”

Diego Milito also spoke of his affection for his former Coach.

“Mourinho was the first Coach to whom I opened up completely. With him I spoke freely of my personal life, without any shyness. There was respect between us, on and off the field.”
