“We can start from the penalty, then a few free kicks given and not given. The refereeing left us somewhat perplexed.
“It was a great game and hard-fought, so it deserved a better refereeing performance.”
Samir Handanovic saw red after just six minutes for giving away a penalty on Alessio Cerci.
“Everyone has their opinion. There have been incidents in the past that were treated differently. I think a few minutes into the game the referee could’ve controlled the situation better, especially as there was already a penalty. We are not contesting the spot-kick, but a yellow card would’ve been enough.
“Ishak Belfodil was constantly kicked and then given the free kick against when he tried to get back into position, while Esteban Cambiasso’s booking on Cerci was also strange. We were perplexed by some of the decisions.
“We needed to become competitive again this season. We are very satisfied with the work of the Coach and the players, so we are developing a good campaign. This is why we’re so disappointed, as this sort of work deserves more concentration from everyone.
“We are not offending anyone. We are simply expressing how perplexed we are. It’s a shame for the players and the Coach after a game like that to drop points, especially after an undeserved defeat to Roma.”
