Inter are ready to begin intensive negotiations with Tottenham Hotspur, hoping to get Christian Eriksen for €10m rather than €20m.

Despite general manager Beppe Marotta’s insistence he has not had any contact with Spurs or Eriksen’s agent, the matter is already reported to be at an advanced stage via intermediaries.

Eriksen’s contract with Tottenham expires in June and he is eager to leave this month rather than as a free agent at the end of the season.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the real talks will begin today, with Inter ready to pay €10m.

Tuttosport believe the move could eventually be agreed at €15m, splitting the difference.

The Premier League club are requesting €20m, but that is considered excessive for a player who will be available for free in only a few months.

Multiple sources in Italy and England claim Eriksen has agreed to a contract until 2024 worth €7.5m per season.

Arturo Vidal, however, is looking increasingly unlikely, because Barcelona are prepared to sack coach Ernesto Valverde.
