The rapport between the two clubs is at an all-time low, yet the Corriere dello Sport maintains the matter isn’t closed.

The Croatia international, who turns 33 next month, is still eager on uniting with his fellow countrymen Ivan Perisic, Marcelo Brozovic and Sime Vrsaljko.

Depending on his performances for Real Madrid over the next few months, and the fall-out from the whole affair, Real Madrid could be prepared to part with Modric in January.
