Inter and Milan will face off to sign Fiorentina midfielder Milan Badelj, reports say.

The Viola have stated up to now that they are unwilling to sell the Croatian, but the player’s agent has taken to the Press on numerous occasions, and last week stated that Milan was their club of choice.

Badelj, who is under contract in Florence until 2018, then issued a statement denying rumours that he was seeking a move, but reports to the contrary continue to gather pace.

Gazzetta dello Sport have reported that both Milan clubs will move for the 27-year-old, with Rossoneri boss Vincenzo Montella keen to bring in his former player as a replacement for injured Riccardo Montolivo.

The newspaper states that the club would be willing to pay €9m to Fiorentina offering the player a four year deal that would be worth €2.5m per season.

With Inter and Chelsea also reportedly showing an interest, it remains to be seen whether the Viola will be able to stick to their guns beyond the January window.
