Coach Roberto Mancini wants Ivan Perisic for Inter at all costs and reportedly asked President Erick Thohir to contact Wolfsburg in person.

The German club is reluctant to let the Croatian join the Nerazzurri and sporting director Klaus Allofs stated yesterday that they “can't afford him”.

While the Serie A team are considering alternatives, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports today that Mancini did not release his grip and that he is asking Thohir to get involved.

In a telephone summit which according to the paper took place yesterday evening or else will take place today, il Mancio will ask Thohir to call Wolfsburg personally and re-open the negotiations.

The Coach is believed to have a very high opinion of Perisic, considering him essential to his tactical designs.

Inter are asking for the player to join them on a €5m loan with a mandatory purchase clause set at €12m in 2016.

Wolfsburg's demand involve €17m now, plus €3m in bonuses.

As for the player, he is believed to have a deal with Inter already defined, and his salary would start at €2.5m a year with the potential to increase.
