Olympique Lyonnais have confirmed their interest in signing Inter left-back Dalbert but want to consider their options first.

Reports in Italy believe Dalbert is closing in on a move to Lyon, for a fee in the region of €20m.

However, President Jean-Michel Aulas warned his club ‘can’t sign every Brazilian’ as they have only one non-EU spot vacant.

“Yes, we’ve been looking at him,” Aulas told RMC Sport.

However, President Jean-Michel Aulas warned his club ‘can’t sign every Brazilian’ as they have only one non-EU spot vacant.

“Yes, we’ve been looking at him,” Aulas told RMC Sport.

“But my concern is that the rules regarding the number of non-EU players haven’t changed.

“We have three non-EU players with the arrival of Jean Lucas, so we have to make a choice on the fourth.

“Dalbert’s price has dropped a lot because he hasn’t played much. He interests us, but we can’t sign every Brazilian.”

The Beneamata spent €21m to sign the 25-year-old from Nice in the summer of 2017, but he has gone on to play just 26 games in two seasons.

The French side, meanwhile, need a replacement for Ferland Mendy after he joined Real Madrid but have undergone a Brazilian revolution with the appointments of Sylvinho and Juninho Pernambucano.
