A variety of reports in Italy on Thursday are suggesting that Inter will ponder a summer move for Bologna’s Alessandro Diamanti.

The Italian international is a highly-rated attacking midfielder who is also believed to be on the transfer radar of Zenit St Petersburg.

The former West Ham player is tied to the Stadio Dall’Ara outfit until June 2017, but that would mean little if a big club made a move for him.

The agent of the 29-year-old admitted earlier this month that Diamanti would consider his future at the end of the campaign.

“Alessandro is loved in Bologna, but there could be some important opportunities for him in the summer,” Luca Puccinelli told Sky Sport Italia.

“If a top team came in for him then that would be a really big opportunity for him.

“In Italy or abroad? If he stays on the peninsula then that would help his international career as he would be seen more regularly.

“But if a major Champions League side made an offer then it wouldn’t be very intelligent to not consider such an option.”

Diamanti, part of Cesare Prandelli’s national squad, has scored six goals in 23 League games so far this term.
