While Liverpool continue to push for Xherdan Shaqiri, it’s reported Inter have flown out for Bayern Munich talks. "He is a target."

“Shaqiri does reflect the characteristics of the kind of player we are looking for,” director Piero Ausilio told Sky Sport Italia this evening.

“He is a target and we like him, we are not going to disguise that, but there are economic considerations too. There is time from now to February 2, so it requires patience.

“Will Mauro Icardi leave in January? Absolutely not, he won’t move for a very long time.”

The Swiss international seems certain to leave during the January transfer window after complaining at the lack of playing time under Pep Guardiola.

English papers maintain Liverpool have made the best offer so far, prepared to hand over €14m straight away.

However, Italian media insist that Shaqiri would prefer Inter and Bayern are open to receiving the €14m spread out.

Their deal would be €2m to take Shaqiri straight away plus a mandatory option to buy at the end of the season for a further €12m.

Nerazzurri director general Marco Fassone is expected in Munich tomorrow morning for advanced negotiations.

Shaqiri has reportedly already agreed personal terms with Inter for €2.5m per season plus a series of add-ons.
