According to Sport Mediaset in Italy and Canal+ in France, the Nerazzurri have set their sights firmly on Thauvin for the January transfer window.
The 21-year-old is valued at around €25m, but Inter hope that price-tag will drop mid-season.
He has a contract with OM until June 2018 and only joined them from Lille a year ago for €14.65m.
This season Thauvin already has a goal and two assists in just four Ligue 1 appearances.
Last term he bagged 10 goals and six assists in 40 games in all competition.
