Edy Reja warned Inter that on Saturday Lazio will play “the game of our lives” to enter the Europa League.

It kicks off on Saturday at 19.45 UK time (18.45 GMT).

“We will aim to win and I told the lads they must believe in the Europa League. We’ve got to go to San Siro with the right mentality and conviction,” the Coach told Lazio Style Radio.

“Unfortunately we wasted a lot of match balls and only got the victory against Parma. If we hadn’t dropped so many points, we’d be on a par with Inter.”

The Biancocelesti have played out two consecutive 3-3 home draws with Torino and Verona.

“There has been a significant escalation since I arrived, but in the important moments we didn’t make the decisive step.

“Looking in their eyes, I get the impression the lads want to play the game of their lives at San Siro. The psychological factor is important, as when we take the lead then we struggle to maintain the same intensity.

“However, the team and I are working to find the solution to these limitations. People used to complain we weren’t spectacular enough, but now they say we concede too many goals – they’re never happy!” joked Reja.

“We just need to score more goals than our opponents. I had to change the defensive line-up regularly and only had the chance to field my first choice defence two or three times.”
