San Lorenzo have confirmed Inter’s interest in Paulo Diaz but warn other “big clubs” are looking at the Chilean defender.

Inter recently signed Lisandro Lopez to bolster their defence, but San Lorenzo’s secretary suggested the Nerazzurri were thinking at bringing in another stopper.

“Diaz has a release clause of €12m,” Miguel Mastrosimone told La Cuarta.

“But I insist: he doesn’t have to leave. He’ll certainly be sold for good money in the future. We wouldn’t let him leave for less than €8m.

“Interest from Inter? It’s true that some big clubs in Europe are already thinking about Paulo Diaz.

“In addition, I can say that the Nerazzurri made an enquiry but not a specific offer. They simply analysed the option of signing him.

“But I insist, for now he won’t leave San Lorenzo.”

Diaz is 24 years of age and represented Chile at the Confederations Cup last summer, where they lost to Germany in the Final.
