After failing to make it into the Germany squad for the World Cup, Robin Gosens is reportedly looking to leave Inter for Schalke 04 or Bayer Leverkusen.

The wing-back was frustrated at the lack of playing time since his January move from Atalanta to San Siro, especially as it was the main reason he was left out of the group going to Qatar.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, after rejecting a summer switch, Gosens is now eager to move on in the January transfer window and preferably to a club with more visibility in Germany.

It is reported that Schalke 04 have made an approach over the last few days, who have in their favour the fact Gosens supported them during his childhood.

Inter might prefer the Bayer Leverkusen alternative, because they would offer former Paris Saint-Germain man Mitchel Bakker in exchange.

The 22-year-old Dutch international is more versatile than Gosens, able to play in central defence as well as on the left wing.

He’d also provide an all-Dutch combination with right-wing-back Denzel Dumfries.
