Inter fans have reacted on social media as Dusan Vlahovic and Matthijs de Ligt attempted to get a penalty kick and a red card for Danilo D’Ambrosio during yesterday’s derby d’Italia.

It was one of the most tense games of the season in Turin last night with Hakan Calhanoglu, who converted a spot-kick in the first half, giving three crucial points to Simone Inzaghi’s men.

Juventus probably played better than Inter, but somehow didn’t manage to put one past Samira Handanovic. Dusan Vlahovic had a rather quiet night also thanks to a great performance of Inter star defender Milan Skriniar. The Serbia international also had a tough time off the pitch, with many Inter fans blaming him for attempting to get D’Ambrosio sent off.

The Italian defender accidentally brushed his face during the second half and Vlahovic went down, hoping the referee would show a red card to his opponent.

Shortly after, Matthijs de Ligt also did something similar, appealing for a very soft penalty kick in the stoppages. Matteo Darmian just touched his face while defending from a late free-kick and the Dutch defender went on the floor with the stadium appealing for a penalty kick.

  1. Diving is crucial at juve, just remember their current VP used to fake and cheat at every opportunity. Hence the nickname Nedived.

  2. Inter Fans who Ing over juve but forget how they got half of their titles. How deluded and full of double standards a club can be. Watch shinter and their fans

  3. When Jube players make drama, but the referee didnt fall for it, Jube fans will blame the referee. Because they used to of this kinf of “favour” calls since a long time. They will whine if the referee acting fair and square

  4. Didn’t Ronaldo get sent off for a similar “brush”? Was not even on the face.

Most people on here were saying it was a correct decision and “you can’t just touch an opponent off the ball like that”. Whether intentional or not.

I’m not saying this should have been a red card, I’m just amused at how the reaction was different.

  5. I wish more penalties would be called on simulation. The drama of Calcio is like an opera sometimes. Stop teaching this in the youth teams. Messi never just goes down. He powers thru and scores goals. Tevez never did. Most South American players don’t. Please don’t teach Osimhen this at Napoli.

  6. Juve players and diving? It’s in their DNAs

Samy, please google “Who shot Bonucci”

    Very amusing, indeed

  7. This is what happens when you award soft penalties, then players will keep falling to the ground hoping for a soft penalty. We could have ended this with VAR, but there is no common thread from the referees or VAR, so nothing changed. And then we can’t understand why less and less are following Serie A. Only in Italy..

  8. Somebody so much as gets sneezed on, and they fall to the ground. Of course in that moment, I was rooting hard for Juventus to either tie or win the game outright to give AC Milan a bigger point lead over Inter.

Explain us how. You talk about fans deluded and with double standard is the funniest thing I’ve read in a while.
