Girondins de Bordeaux have turned down a €40m offer from Inter for Malcom, but it’s reportedly due to payment being spread out.

According to RMC Sport in France, an initial proposal has arrived and been rejected.

The problem, however, is not the fee of €40m, but the transfer terms.

Inter are still forced to adjust for Financial Fair Play limitations and that means almost all their recent transfers have been spread out over several financial years.

Inter are still forced to adjust for Financial Fair Play limitations and that means almost all their recent transfers have been spread out over several financial years.

They tend to bring players in on loan with option to buy, or with an obligation to buy set at a certain number of competitive appearances.

The situation does not seem to be progressing and probably won’t until after June 30, but Malcom has plenty of clubs lining up ready to pay.

The 21-year-old Brazilian is a versatile forward who can take either wing or a central role.

This season he scored 12 goals with seven assists in 35 Ligue 1 matches for Bordeaux.
