Inter directors are fuelling speculation of Mario Balotelli’s return from Manchester City. “We’ll see in a few months, but we never closed the door to him.”

There have been reports over the last few days that SuperMario could make a sensational comeback to the club he left for €22m in August 2010.

“There was an error of evaluation on Balotelli. They needed to wait at least a couple of years before selling him,” said former Inter legend Sandro Mazzola.

An even more intriguing comment came from Nerazzurri technical director Marco Branca, who spoke to Sky Sport Italia.

“Balotelli? We’ll see in a few months, but we never closed the door to him and never will turn our backs on a potential return.

“We need to change next season and find the right mix between old and new, trying to understand what will be at our disposal for the transfer market.

“We will certainly promote four or five players from the youth team and evaluate their capabilities in pre-season training.”

The rumours about Balotelli escalated when the Manchester City hitman visited his old teammates and gatecrashed new Coach Andrea Stramaccioni’s presentation press conference.
